Four motorcyclists killed in separate road accidents

SINGAPORE : It was a tragic start to the weekend on the roads as four motorcyclists were killed in separate accidents.

In the first case, just before 6am on Friday, a woman motorcyclist in her 60s, collided into an on-coming van along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1.

She suffered serious head injuries and was rushed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital but died later.

In the second accident near Woodlands Checkpoint on Friday evening, there was a collision between a car and two motorcycles.

Both motorcyclists ended up in hospital but one, a man in his mid-40s, died soon after.

The third accident happened along Tampines Avenue 7 at about 2.30am early Saturday morning.

A motorcyclist in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene after he collided into the back of another motorcycle.

Meanwhile, another motorcyclist was killed at about 11am on Saturday when he was involved in an accident between a trailer and two motorcycles along the PIE at Corporation Road.

Police are appealing for witnesses to call the Traffic Police Hotline at 1800-547-1818. - CNA/ch

treasure life

today i was driving along PIE, heading towards home after work, and there was a jam that stretches all the way to nearly the jalan bahar excit.. the cause of the heavy jam can be traced to an accident that occured before hong kah fly over..

moments earlier.. a trailer (which is parked at the site of the road near the accident scene) had probably slammed into a motorcycle.. the rider had no chance to escape, as when i passed there, TP used a blue tent to cover his body, and till now i could still vividly recollect seeing blood, and probably bits of flesh, and some of his internal organs on all over 2 lanes of the 4 lane expressway..

its sad to see such a scene, and as my dad puts it.. someone has lost a son, husband, father and / or boyfriend..

that's why they say, always treasure life..
