Marine Corps!!

"Marine Corps General Reinwald was interviewed on the radio the other day and you'll love his reply to the lady who interviewed him concerning guns and children. Regardless of how you feel about gun laws you gotta love this!!!! This is one of the best comeback lines of all time. It is a portion of National Public Radio (NPR) interview between a female broadcaster and US Marine Corps General Reinwald who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military installation.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: So, General Reinwald, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?

GENERAL REINWALD: We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery, and shooting.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?

GENERAL REINWALD: I don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the rifle range.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?

GENERAL REINWALD: I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: But you're equipping them to become violent killers.

GENERAL REINWALD: Well, Ma'am, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not one, are you?

The radio went silent and the interview ended.

You gotta love the Marines!"

IDIOTS!!

friends who drive out there, beware of the driver of this goldish colour toyota altis, SFV 5154, who most probably is an elderly man with one leg in the coffin already..

i was waiting for a carpark lot near the market at toa payoh lorong 8.. the road was quite wide, altogether having 4 lanes, 2 for going my direction, and another 2 for going the other direction.. then this van left the lot with a car beside it, so it lefts 2 lots empty.. as there was this mercedes who was in front of me, i let him parked his car first before attempting to park my vehicle..

then suddenly this car that i earlier mentioned just came from the opposite direction and park head-in first into the lot that i was so supposed to park.. i was so damn pissed, but after arguing, he insisted he was waiting already, i just decided to end the quarrel and let him have his way.. arghh.. what with these fu*kers?

careless driving?

friday was a sucking day for me.. something happened which made me felt moody the whole day, and even yesterday, the feeling of being wronged has not gone away..

i was travelling in the CBD area, to fetch peipei after work, near one raffles quay.. i was on the extreme left lane, and at a junction near the building, this lane has an option to either turn left or go straight.. just as i was nearing the junction, suddenly a taxi on my right sped up, put up an impromptu left signal, and tried to turn left in front of me..

being at 80km/h on a 70km/h, i was quite fast, and checking the rear view mirror, the car behind me was quite close, so i decided against slamming the brakes.. i just let my foot off the accelerator and allowed the car to cruise.. off course my decision resulted in a near collision, but in the end after some intense horning, i continued straight while the taxi was unablt to turn left and remained on my right..

a TP then subsequently pulled up in between us and asked us to stop in front where there is less traffic.. he booked me for careless driving, $150 and 6 demerit points.. i tried to explain to him that it wasn't my fault, and that i had the right of way.. and he said that it was a very lenient charge already, could have been avoided had i 'slammed' my brakes.. what the?? and if there's one thing i leant from others' experience, never never argue with a TP.. so i decided to just accept my freaking fate and keep quiet while he copied my details..

while he wanted to book the taxi driver for reckless driving.. the taxi driver managed to reduced it to careless driving as well.. i didn't know how he managed to do it, as i was in a confused state of mind about my 6 demerit points.. sighz..

after details were copied, i sat back in my own car, pondered for awhile, curse my arse luck, and drove off..

death of somebody..

i lifted this off a friend's blog.. i love reading his blog because it always contains these stories that make you put down your hectic everyday life, pause for a moment, and think about life..

OBITUARY

Today, we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: Knowing when to come in out of the rain; Why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't always fair; and Maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6 -year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer Tylenol, sun lotion or a band-aid to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge set tlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.

He is survived by his three stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I'm A Victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do
nothing.
