and so the end of 30 sep 09
the end of today also marks the end of my 27th birthdaythe whole day today it was drizzling, and now it is really heavy rain.. i can hear the rain drops beating relentlessly on my hotel window, and am now feeling so tired because my body is still according to singapore time, not yet adjusted, but i really have to force myself to sleep later and wake up later so that i would not be so listless during the day time like today..
i walked the town today, about 1 hour away from the hotel and back, taking about 2 hours in total, and did the same in the other direction.. there is really nothing much here except that i noticed that there are like 'hundreds'of parks (not that i mean it literally), whether big or small, but they are just all over the place.. there are also small street stalls selling fresh flowers at the entrance of every park.. and becasue the weather here is really cool, there is no need for artificial refrigeration of the flowers to keep them fresh..
shops that are opened are very rare, and for those that are, common things sold are cold wear clothing, ladies shoes/boots and mobile phones etc, just to name a few.. at the intersection (t-junction) of most streets, there is an underpass linking, and all these underpasses are like mini underground malls, full of small shops selling hair accessories and dvds..
what is even more rare is that there are no asians like us, after 4 hours of walking, i only saw 2 asians, pretty much seemed like they were japanese, and talking to the hotel staff, i found out that people, other than russians, are only here usually for 2 reasons, one is for business trip, like me, and the other is for college studies.. seldom tourist visit rostov as they prefer the more busy moscow..
ok it is really getting late now (2.15am singapore time) and i must really sleep, getting a little bit heavy eye lids
