finished my third day of work..
today was an interesting day.. i can't tell much details because i realised that most of the information that i access is classified and only made available to keppel employees..this whole week i'm attached to the safety department.. in the morning i am attached to a senior safety officer and i accompany him to do walkabouts and identify potential safety hazards within the yard, and in the afternoon i spend the time reading safety manuals.. though next time i will not be in this department, but safety is important for everyone, so i don't really quite mind reading all those manuals (can waste some time too :p)..
actually i'm more eager to go back to my own department, the hull section, to actually start some serious work there.. but like all the others who have been in keppel for a long time, said the newcomers have to learn about safety first, then go for specified training before actually commencing work..
but well ships are so majestic, they are huge and magnificient that walking from one end to the other takes about 15mins.. averaged about 300m in length.. and i'm only a fraction of one of the 4 or 5 propeller blades, not to mention the very much bigger rudder..
now seeing so large ships day in and day out, i'm no longer fascinated by those large class 5 trailers anymore..
